Hiking in Whistler with Kids
Although pricey, hiking in Whistler Blackcomb’s mountains can be especially beautiful in the summer when alpine flowers are in bloom and clear skies provide extraordinary views of the surrounding mountain ranges and the Whistler valley.
Getting kids up the hill is very easy with Whistler’s gondolas running from Blackcomb base and the Village base up to the top of either mountains.
At Blackcomb, the Rendezvous restaurant provides full food and beverage service with beautiful views.
For a spectacular experience, visit the Umbrella Bar at the top of Whistler where you’re able to indulge in your favourite drink while getting 360 views of surrounding mountain ranges.
There are plenty of food options for kids and space for them to also enjoy the views.
The map below shows beginner (in green) and intermediate (in blue) hiking trails on Blackcomb which are great for young children. Make sure to pack the following items:
- snacks and water
- sun hats (the Sunday Sun Hat is a favourite)
- sunscreen and bug repellent especially during the early summer months.
